Before Highway 101, and before Petaluma Blvd., there was Main Street. Essential to the economic vitality of the town, Main Street, with its banks, shops and theaters was much more than just a street, it was the heart of Petaluma. Experience it in person in our new exhibit, Your Hometown Main Street.

Part II focuses on Petaluma’s early Irish, Black, and German communities, which formed tight-knit social, religious, and commercial groups in their pursuit of the American Dream. Collectively, their contributions made Petaluma’s Main Street a bustling melting pot of commerce, community, and celebration.
