May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, as well as National Historic Preservation Month! Join us at the Museum and learn how efforts are underway all over California to preserve past and present Chinatowns. Our panel of experts will discuss the importance of saving these community hubs of tradition and culture, and remembering the legacies of Chinatowns past. Guest speakers include Sonoma City Council member and former Mayor Jack Ding, Chinese Historical Society Board Member David LeiBill Roop from Archaeological Resources, and Dr. Thomas Whitley, Professor, Director of the Anthropological Studies Center at Sonoma State University, and member of Petaluma’s Historic and Cultural Preservation Committee.

This free event is presented in partnership with the Petaluma Old Chinatown Ad Hoc Committee.
